We are seeking an experienced EHV Construction Project Engineer (SAP) to manage and oversee the successful delivery of EHV projects.
Role Overview
As the EHV Construction Project Engineer, you will take a lead role in the design, planning, and execution of high-voltage projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Acting as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), you will oversee critical switching operations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage EHV construction projects from inception to completion.
- Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for high-voltage switching and operational activities.
- Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee and manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including method statements and risk assessments.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring targets are met.
- Conduct site inspections to verify progress and compliance with technical specifications.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to address project requirements and expectations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Report project progress and performance to senior management and clients.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing EHV construction projects.
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status with experience in HV/EHV switching and operations.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, construction processes, and industry regulations.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing technical documents and project plans.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as DNO/IDNO and National Grid requirements.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
