SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA)

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA) to manage and optimize our database environment and support mission-critical applications.
Role Overview
As a SQL DBA, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL Server databases. You will work closely with development and infrastructure teams to design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions that meet organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Design, implement, and optimize database architecture to meet business requirements.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency.
- Ensure database security, backups, and recovery processes are in place and effective.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, minimizing downtime and disruption.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize queries, indexes, and schema designs.
- Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Stay updated on advancements in SQL Server and database technologies to drive innovation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an SQL Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Expertise in SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with database security practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and automation tools.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database) is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
