Electrical Design Engineer - Data Centres

Role Overview
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems tailored for data centres. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for data centres, including power distribution, UPS, and backup systems.
- Create detailed schematics, layouts, and technical documentation for projects.
- Conduct load calculations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Evaluate and select materials, equipment, and technologies for optimal system performance.
- Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability in electrical designs.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in electrical engineering and data centre design.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, preferably in data centre or mission-critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and relevant engineering principles.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including IEEE, NEC, or BS7671.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with diverse teams.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Professional certifications such as CEng or equivalent are advantageous.
