Public Sector IT Internal Audit Assistant Manager

Role Overview
As an IT Internal Audit Assistant Manager, you will assist in planning, executing, and reporting on IT audit engagements for public sector organizations. This role demands a strong understanding of IT systems, audit methodologies, and public sector challenges, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and scoping IT audit engagements, ensuring alignment with client objectives and risk frameworks.
- Perform detailed audits of IT systems, processes, and controls to identify risks and areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with clients to develop practical solutions for mitigating risks and enhancing IT controls.
- Provide support during external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Stay updated on public sector IT trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients, ensuring a high level of service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT audit, with a strong understanding of audit methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with public sector IT systems, regulations, and governance frameworks.
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree in IT, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
