66kV Senior Authorized Person (SAP)

We are seeking an experienced 66kV Senior Authorized Person (SAP) to oversee high-voltage operations and ensure the safe and efficient management of electrical systems.
Role Overview
As a 66kV SAP, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of high-voltage systems. This role demands a thorough understanding of electrical distribution, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and authorize high-voltage switching operations up to 66kV.
- Oversee and implement safe systems of work, including issuing permits to work and isolating equipment.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage systems to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Collaborate with project teams to support the delivery of high-voltage infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical expertise and support for fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to high-voltage operations and safety procedures.
- Train and mentor junior staff, promoting a culture of safety and technical excellence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Authorized Person (SAP) with authorization to operate up to 66kV.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, switching procedures, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with regulations and standards such as BS7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and DNO codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the ability to manage and collaborate with teams effectively.
- Relevant electrical engineering qualifications; NVQ Level 3 or higher is preferred.
- A full UK driving license is required.
