Role Overview
As a Nuclear Safety Case Developer, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining safety case documentation to support nuclear projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess risks, define safety requirements, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain nuclear safety cases, ensuring alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.
- Conduct hazard assessments, risk analyses, and fault studies to support the development of robust safety cases.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and regulatory bodies to gather inputs and validate safety case documentation.
- Ensure safety cases are clear, comprehensive, and meet relevant nuclear safety regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on safety case requirements and methodologies.
- Participate in design reviews, safety audits, and assessments to identify potential improvements.
- Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in nuclear safety.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to stakeholders, including regulators and clients.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in developing and managing nuclear safety cases, preferably within the nuclear or energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of safety assessment methodologies, risk analysis, and hazard identification techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as ONR SAPs, IAEA guidelines, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using tools and software for safety analysis and documentation.
- Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
